Sunshine & Summer

As summer begins, the time in the sun grows longer, family comes around, finals are in the back view of every high schooler's mind, and there are so many fun adventures ahead.

I am probably just as excited as any other high schooler that school is out. For a while there, I wasn't even anticipating it, I was more along for the ride. However, as those last few days towards the end of the school year grew closer, I just couldn't wait for Summer!

The last day of school rolled around, and I was so happy to wake up to some sunshine! The last few days had been rain, rain, and more rain! Trust me, the next few days were no different, but today there was sunshine. It was raining so much the last few days though, that my Mom's potted flowers behind the house were beginning to drown! The poor things were in a lake! Luckily, they're doing okay now that we've moved them closer to the house.

Anyway... my last final of the year was Geometry. It wasn't too bad and I did end up with a pretty awesome score. Once the final was over, my good friends and I drove downtown, parked at the library, ate some lunch, and walked through so many stores. I had such a great time!

We've got plans for the Summer. The three of us have so many fun things to do on our "Friend To-Do-List", as I like to call it. Picnics behind the library, cupcake contests, hikes, camping trips, etc. I only hope we have enough time to do them all. I have a feeling we're going to have fun this Summer either way :)

This weekend however, was spent at Grandma's house (which I found as my excuse for procrastination in relation to my writing... I'm so silly)! If you don't already know, she lives up in the woods, in a log house, with a garden, plenty of wild animals (deer plus her 2 black kitties), and it is in such a beautiful place.

While it rained (and rained and rained) most of the weekend, it was still a fun trip. We painted the upstairs bedroom (which was lots of fun), played lots of card games (including teaching my brother Rummy), went to a farmer's market, and pet the cats :) It was also a time to take so many nature photos (another one of my hobbies). When it wasn't raining, the sun was shining and it was beyond gorgeous.

There are so many things to do this Summer! The fun has only just begun.

While it's not quite June 21st yet, HAPPY SUMMER!
