Flowers & Rain

I don't know about y'all, but growing up in Montana has led me to have a great appreciation and a fascination with nature and God's wonder. Nature is just so magnificent and beautiful! It's silent, peaceful, and mysterious all in one glance. It's absolutely breath taking!

Did you know that Friday last week (April 22) was Earth Day? This holiday has been celebrated for over 50 years and with only one purpose, to bring about awareness of the environment. It just so happened, that this past Friday, it was raining.

I mean, when asked for you favorite smell, few would hesitate to say the smell after it rains isn't amazing! It's certainly one of my favorite smells, aside from the smell of oranges. In fact, the rain was perfect for Earth Day!

Aside from a few people outside trying to do something nice for the Earth (such as picking up trash) in the rain, there were few people doing anything other than watching the rain work its magic. It was probably best that my friends and I celebrated Earth Day a day early, not that we painted outside...

To celebrate, my friends and I went to a volunteer club at the high school for lunch. It was so much fun! We got to paint flower pots!! Just so you know, 50 minutes may be more than enough time to eat lunch, but it is nowhere near enough time to paint a flower pot (even a small one)!

Of course, since it was spring, that meant painting flowers, bunnies, grass, birds, and mountains. While my artistic skills are little, I still had a blast, and my friends painted some AMAZING things!

I hope everyone had an awesome Earth Day!
If you did something to celebrate, I'd love to hear about it in the comments below!
