Leprechauns, blooming flowers, and Monopoly board games. One of the more beautiful months of the year, full of gold and green on St. Patricks Day, and the same month the Monopoly board game was created. Sure that was back in 1933, but it was still March... was it not? March is also the month of slush on the roads that is bound to get your parent's car dirty, but remember, the slush means spring is on its way... and spring is all about ADVENTURE!
Okay, okay, watching movies may not be the most adventurist thing in the world, but when you watch new movies, you're trying something new! And when you try something new, you're adventuring! Now I'm not saying in order to have an adventure you have to watch something as crazy as Horror movies... but you can if you want to! No, no, when you have an adventure, it could be as literal as actually watching Adventure movies!
Let's check out some of the best adventure movies!
1. Raiders of the Lost Arc
The first ever Indiana Jones movie with Harrison Ford. Is this a great adventure movie? Yes... but that's not the only reason it's on this list. It's on this list, because if you have yet to see it, you have missed one of the classics. Who wouldn't want to watch Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, fighting Nazis, who are trying to take over the world?!?!
2. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
I'm not talking about the 2018 Tomb Raider, I'm taking you all the way back in 2001 with Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. If you're looking for another adventure movie to watch, nothing is better than another movie about saving the world!
3. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings
If you love movies where [SPOILER ALERT] the main character turns evil-ish at the end of the last movie (because of a ring), then this movie is for you. Rather, this 3 movie saga is for you! Just make sure when you get started, you're ready to sit on the couch for about 4 hours PER MOVIE! Each movie is longer than Avenger's Endgame by 40-60 minutes... So if you thought Endgame was long, you will definitely think this movie is long.
4. Sahara
In this thrilling adventure about plagues and a ship lost long ago that is rumored to have gold, Mathew McConaughey plays Dirk Pitt and Steve Zahn as his lifelong companion. This movie is sure to keep your ears perked up, your lips smiling at the corny jokes, and laughing every time this duo manages to get themselves out of trouble once again. (Keep an ear out for the word "Panama". As soon as you hear it, you'll know you are at the best part of the movie.)
5. National Treasure
Looking for a movie to keep your mind spinning as you try to figure out the riddles before the people in the show can? If so, this is the adventure for you! (I know, that sounded like a corny advertisement, but stick with me a little longer on this one.) With a movie full of codes to break, and bad guys to run from, this is a great adventure movie to watch. If you enjoy a little story to do with the Declaration of Independence, this is not only a great adventure, but one of the better ones for your Adventure Movies List!
Keep in mind, it might be a while 'til movie theaters open up again, so make sure to stock up your house with movie theater goodies so you're all good to go when it's movie night!
