As a teen, it is a sin to not at least have one weird trait, but let's just say, to be truly weird, you need to have more than one. Not a problem! I've been weird as long as I can remember. The worst part, is that I have no idea why what I do is considered weird. To me, it's just fun!
Weird Trait #1:
Wearing Socks to Bed
Yes, yes, yes... I wear socks to bed. To be honest though, I have no idea why that's bad. I find that the end of my bed is always cold under the covers. Especially in the winter, and I like to keep warm when I sleep. Socks just seem to get that done. My whole family thinks I'm weird though. But, I just can't seem to sleep well without socks (even sometimes in the summer).
Weird Trait #2:
Talking to Myself
I talk to myself a lot. A lot more than most people. At least, I don't think people talk OUT LOUD to themselves, outside where people can see them. I like to imagine sometimes that I have a devil on one shoulder, and an angel on another. I like to make them fight when I have big decisions to make. It's fun to weigh the pros and cons when you are talking to two other people. Even if they are imaginary.
Weird Trait #3:
My Chocolate Needs to be Cold
I picked up this trait from my Dad, who agrees with me that chocolate is WAY better cold. My mom and brother however, think I'm crazy for sticking my chocolate in the fridge before I eat it. (Trust me. Chocolate is better cold!)
Weird Trait #4:
Weird Faces
I make a lot of weird faces. Again, out in public where people can see me. It's best they know who I am before they meet me. Keeps the shock to a minimum. And when I say I make weird faces, I don't just mean your typical teenage face (even though I have recently master them). When I say weird faces, I mean eyebrows-up, tongue-out, eyes-wide faces. I find a lot of joy in seeing people giving me the Aren't-You-Weird-Face. (I happened to have gotten these weird faces from my Mom's side of the family. THANKS AUNT KATIE!)
Weird Trait #5:
Dance Skills
Most people who know me, know I just can't dance. There is a part of me that makes it almost impossible. At least I have rhythm (probably only because of my piano lessons), but even with rhythm, I just CAN'T DANCE! Someone once asked me the ice breaker question, "If you ended up in jail, what would your friends think you did?" I said, "Someone saw me dancing."
Just because I have weird traits (and I know they are weird to most people) I have no problem with telling/showing everyone just how weird I can be. Have a GREAT day!
Let me know in the comments what your weirdest traits are!

I did not know I had wierd traits, thought I was normal but I wear sox to bed, can't dance and talk to myself. Oh ,well, .
ReplyDeleteI can blow spit bubbles. Yup, little bubbles that float to the ground. Well, ok, maybe not a great thing during covid times, but it's kinda fun to pass the time when you're bored and I don't know anyone else who can do that. It's my weird trait. ;)
