Book of the Month: September

Oh no... where did Summer go!? No longer can we sit and read all day to our hearts content... but that doesn't mean we still can't enjoy a good book when we have the time.

I happen to have stumbled upon a great trick this Summer. Get this: Homework is so much more enjoyable when you tell yourself you have to work to read one more chapter... that's one way to get invested in your school work (it certainly worked for my Summer homework)...

THIS MONTH'S BOOK: Skyhunter by Marie Lu
Genre: Science Fiction, Dystopian
Published: September 29, 2020 (Book two, Steelstriker, came out September of 2021)
About: There was so much mystery to this book and so much to be in awe with that I just fell in love. It's not every day you run across a book where the main character doesn't speak but uses sign language! To me, this book (mostly the plot) was beyond incredible... I finished it so fast :)

SETTING:
There's this in-between for the first few months of school. You're either swamped with loads and loads of homework, or you're still in the middle of that get-to-know-your-classmates-lesson.

Let me get this straight: I am not condoning Forget-Your-Schoolwork-And-Read-Day... I'm simply suggesting you take those moments in class when you're not doing anything to read a little. While that may mean you'll end up stopping in the middle of a chapter (which is terrible), it may be just another thing that keeps you hooked on a good book. (Besides the fact this month's book will have already grabbed your attention!)

If you no longer have school to worry about, the same goes for work or any around the house activities. When you have time, maybe on your lunch break or in-between chores, I believe reading a book is a great way to pass the time.

Since I have already read this book, maybe I'll be on the lookout for book two. Since going back to school means access to an awesome library five days a week... count me in!

Happy reads everyone!
