Ridiculous Laws

As you should know by now, I love to research, so I went to Google and searched for the weirdest most ridiculous laws, and it appears that every single state has at least one. Here are the best ones out of the bunch:

Washington
It is against the law to kill Bigfoot
By RyanMcGuire (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/53e4d7464e54b108f5d084609620367d1c3ed9e04e507748752d7fd4954ec1_1280.jpg

In Washington, USA, it is against the law to kill Bigfoot, and punishable by 5 years in prison. Of course, this law was amended some time after it was made in 1969. Bigfoot is now considered to be an endangered species.

Oklahoma
NO EAVESDROPPING!
By Couleur (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/54e2d54a4b57ae14f6da8c7dda793f7f1636dfe2564c704f742f79e45c158_1280.jpg

In Oklahoma, USA, it is against the law to, and I quote, "loiter about any building with the intent to overhear". Well, I'm glad I don't live in Oklahoma. I tend to eavesdrop a lot. Oops...

Nevada
Don't Lie Down on the Sidewalk
By sasint (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/57e8d5444e54ad14f6da8c7dda793f7f1636dfe2564c704f742f9d0974bcc5f_1280.jpg

In Nevada, USA, it is against the law to lie down on the sidewalk. I really want to know why! Most laws are made because someone had done something like this in the past, right?... but why is lying down on the sidewalk bad? Oh good, this only applies to the Regional Center in Nevada, but THIS STILL DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!

Maryland
No Curse words allowed!
By CIker-Free-Vector-Images (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/54e9d1404353b108f5d084609620367d1c3ed9e04e507748752d72d0954ec4_1280.png

In Rockville, Maryland, it is against the law to use curse words if you are within hearing distance of another person. Word of advice: If you go to Rockville, Maryland, DON'T USE CURSE WORDS!

Kansas
No Ice Cream on Cherry Pie
By OpenClipart-Vectors (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/57e5d3474351b108f5d084609620367d1c3ed9e04e507748752d72dd934ec1_1280.png

Fortunately, this law in Kansas is not enforced, but I must say, people in Kansas LOVE their desert. More importantly, people in Kansas LOVE their Cherry Pie.

Idaho
Cannibalism is against the law (except in extreme circumstances)
By Amber_Avalona (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/57e7dd474c53ac14f6da8c7dda793f7f1636dfe2564c704f742f79dd9e45c359_1280.jpg

Note to self: Don't go to Idaho during a zombie apocalypse. Or any apocalypse for that matter. Not sure what defines an extreme circumstance, but I'm not sure I want to know.

California
It's Illegal to eat a frog if it dies during a frog jumping contest
By Ciker-Free-Vector-Images (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/55e0dd4b4e55b108f5d084609620367d1c3ed9e04e507748752c7bd49645c1_1280.png

Just putting this out there, but who would want to EAT A FROG?!?! I wouldn't! YUCK!

Arkansas
You must pronounce "Arkansas" correctly
By Ciker-Free-Vector-Images (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/54e8d045494fad0bffd8992ccf2934771438dbf852577049762f7bd0924a_1280.png

If you go to Arkansas, make sure you aren't saying "Our-Kansas". However, this law only discourages saying Arkansas wrong, there are no severe punishments.

Monatana
No Throwing Anything Across the Street
By KristopherK (Unknown Year) https://pixabay.com/get/57e6d5444956ac14f6da8c7dda793f7f1636dfe2564c704f742f78d4964bc25b_1280.jpg

Last, but certainly not least, in Helena, Montana, it is illegal to throw anything across the street. How many of you have done this? I most certainly have thrown something across the street before. It was probably when I was young, and most likely a snowball or a paper airplane!

There sure are some ridiculous laws out there! Let me know in the comments any other ridiculous laws you know about! Have a GREAT weekend!
