Did you know that MLK Day (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) wasn't first observed until 1986... and that it took an additional 14 years before all 50 states recognized the holiday in 2000!
FUN FACTS (according to NationalToday.com):
Martin Luther's name at birth was Michael!
Martin Luther King Jr. went to collage at age 15!!
While today is certainly a day to celebrate his birthday... or rather, the belated birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., today just so happens to be a day of many more great holidays!
HAPPY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER DAY!
(Elementary teachers are superheroes, because they can handle chaos every single day!)
HAPPY NATIONAL BENJAMIN FRANKLIN DAY!!
(As a Founding Father and a Scientist, today celebrates his birthday!)
And...
HAPPY NATIONAL DITCH NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS DAY!!!
Apparently, today is the day to ditch your resolutions... and feel guilt free? This has got to be, by far, one of the most hilarious holidays, EVER! Do yourself a favor, DON'T MAKE UNREALISTIC RESOLUTIONS!!!!
There. My advice for the day. Take it or leave it!
Maybe all you need to be is a little more patient... and maybe secretly rewrite some of your resolutions :)
You can end up as those 8% of Americans that actually complete their resolutions... I BELIEVE IN YOU!
Let me know in the comments how your resolutions are coming along? Making any progress? And, how's your Martin Luther King Jr. Day going?
Have an AWESOME day!
